Born and raised in Lafayette, LA, he has called New Orleans home his entire adult life. Over that time has established himself as an entrepreneur, an intellectual, and a man dedicated to the city’s success: prior and post Katrina.

Whether it’s organizing charitable fundraisers, social events for Tulane, or simply exploring new economic opportunities in New Orleans, Nick Bacqué is thoroughly entrenched as a New Orleans local. For years, Nick has had his sights set on the Mayor’s seat in New Orleans, eager to implement his new vision of the city he loves. His political aspirations focus on logical, efficient ideas that will encourage renewed economic vitality to a city slowed by “good ole boy” politics and webs of bureaucracy. It is now, more than ever, that this city needs leadership with intelligence, energy, enthusiasm, and distance from the faulty systems in place right now.

Mr. Bacqué began his higher education here at Tulane University, a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, a MBA in finance and management, and is currently working through a the medical portion of a combined Medical Doctor, Master’s in Public Health in Health Systems Management, and Master’s of Biomedical Engineering program. Nick has also studied finance at ICADE in Madrid, Spain, and strategy at HEC in Paris, France. All of the coursework involved was finished at a highly accelerated rate.

Nick also has worked in local area hospitals, in Washington, D.C. for Senator John Breaux, and currently is involved with local redevelopment projects in downtown New Orleans. He also serves as President of Tulane’s Graduate and Professional Schools, with seats on Tulane’s University Senate and Board.
